50 M Precision Pistol

Precision Pistol, also known as Bullseye Pistol is one of the oldest pistol competitions.

The Precision Pistol Match will take place on the 50m range at the west end of the property on the 4th Saturday of the month.

Precision Pistol is fired one-handed from a standing position at either stationary targets at 50 yards or turning targets at 25 yards. Because emphasis is placed on sight alignment and trigger control, Bullseye shooting is a great way to master pistol fundamentals, which then carry over to other shooting sports.  If it sounds intimidating, be assured in that nobody has ever shot a perfect 2700-270x. There is room for all skill levels. Safety is our only concern.

The course of fire for our match will be an NRA 900 match. This will consist of:
20 shot slow fire stage (50y)
30 shot national match course (25/50y)
20 shot timed fire stage (25y)
20 shot rapid fire stage (25y)

All pistol calibers are ok with the exception of magnums which are not allowed.

Traditionally three different pistols are used for a full Bullseye match: -22 rimfire pistol
-Center-fire pistol
   (any caliber larger than .32)
-45 ACP pistol.

For beginners, the entire match may be shot with a 22 rimfire pistol. Many shooters use the 45 ACP for both the centerfire and 45 portions of the match to avoid purchasing a third pistol and to gain experience with the 45. There are also 22 caliber adapters available for the Model 1911 making it possible to shoot the entire match with one gun.

Setup, registration and sigh-in will begin at 12:00 and the match will start at 13:00. The match should take about an hour and a half. Since this is a club approved match, the special 50m pistol qualification is not required and it is open to non-club members.
